Ranch homes, also called ramblers in our area, are so common as many were built in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. They are single story structures, with very shallow-pitched roofs. Ranch houses are very common throughout suburbs and sometimes is referred to as tract housing, meaning that they were cookie-cutter homes.
These houses were built because the demand for housing increased dramatically just after the war.
The Ranch house was created by Levitt and Sons in 1949.
