cape style houseSometimes called Craftsman, or Arts and Crafts, or Craftsman Bungalow, this style was made popular by Gustav Stickley in the early 1900’s. There are many homes built in this style that appreciates natural woodwork, quality of craftsmanship, and clean lines that integrate with the surrounding environment. The low-slung roofline usually spots eave roof brackets and exposed rafter tails. Sometimes there is a transition between exterior materials from the first floor to the second, such as wood shakes on the second floor exterior walls while first floor exterior walls are made of stucco.
